I threw him over for his brother
My husband and I have been living together for about four years and have been married for three years. We have a daughter we both adore.
But when I fell in love with him, I was going out with his younger brother. It was a relaxed relationship and we never discussed marriage until his brother came along. I know we hurt him badly when we got married, but he always told me he wanted me back and that he’d always love me.
Unfortunately, there have been days when I’ve felt that leaving him was a terrible mistake. He was a wonderful man and treated me like I was special.
About a year ago, my husband and I had one of our steamy rows and I ended up having sex with his brother. It was mind-blowing. We’ve since been sleeping together, but my ex is now seeing another woman and I’m feeling jealous.
I still care deeply for him, but going back to him would hurt too many people. We’ve stopped sleeping together because this new girl is always in his flat! I feel so empty, especially knowing I can’t really have him.

Female friends won’t leave me alone
I find it easy to interact with women and have a lot of female friends. Unfortunately, they all keep falling for me.
I don’t think I’m anything special and I don’t think I lead them on, but they think I want more than friendship. I then don’t know what to say because I don’t want to hurt them.
In the past, I’ve even slept with a few, simply because I don’t know what else to do. But then they want a proper relationship and it ends horribly.
I don’t want to stop being friends with women, so how can I stop the friendship being misconstrued?

My new man is older and shorter
I am in my early 30s with an adorable son and ended a relationship with his father last year. I’m now with another man, who loves me for what I am, unlike the father of my son. My new man is loving and helps me through financial and emotional stress.
The problem is he is almost 18 years older and considerably shorter than me. My friends talk about this and people stare at us when we go out in public. I also don’t love him as much as I loved my previous lover. In spite of the fact that he’s perfect, I love him in a brotherly way.
The father of my son was arrogant and cruel, yet I still think about him. The love I once knew with him stops me from giving my new lover the love he deserves. I care a lot about this man and I don’t want to lose him.

Can you reach orgasm the first time?
I am in my late teens and a student. I have just had sex for the first time with my boyfriend. I enjoyed it a lot and I’m sure I had an orgasm.
But my boyfriend says I must be mistaken, because women never have orgasms the first time they have sex. He says they have to learn to have it. Is he right?

‘Why we withdrew our children from private schools’
AS school children resume from the long vacation, Vanguard investigations revealed that parents have commenced withdrawing their children from private schools to public ones, attributing their action to the harsh economic situation in the country.
Parents and school owners, who spoke to Vanguard yesterday, lamented the bad economic situation, with proprietors stating that since resumption their schools have been witnessing a low turnout of returning pupils.
Mrs Gladys Adewumi, whose three children were in Living Joy Nursery and Primary School, Ikorodu, said she withdrew two of her children from the private school to a public school when it was apparent her husband could not cope financially.
Adewumi said: “I operate a beauty salon and my husband is a plumber and we have three children in a private school. For about a year now, my husband has not been able to live up to his financial responsibility to the family, which led to over N100,000 indebtedness to the school.
“To reduce the financial burden, we agreed to remove two of our children from the private school to a government school at Elepe.
“The challenge I may encounter now is the distance between our residence and the school, which is about five miles.”

Abduction of Lagos 4: Kidnappers demand N1.2bn ransom
THE kidnappers of four residents of Lekki Gardens in Isheri, a border community between Lagos and Ogun states, weekend, demanded N1.2 billion ransom for their release.
They made contacts with family members of the victims, suspected to be held hostage in the creeks, yesterday.
The victims, Mr. Kennedy Ucheagwu, Dr. Omololu, Bello and Mr. Esang, said to be landlords at Oshorun Heritage Estate, had gone for an aerobic section, Saturday, when eight masked gunmen in military camouflage intercepted them, shooting sporadically.
While others managed to escape, same could not be said for the victims, as they were whisked away in boats through the waterways.
One of the relatives of the abducted men, who spoke on condition of anonymity yesterday, said: “I got a call very early yesterday, where the unknown caller informed that he was one of the kidnappers that took our people away on Saturday.
“He warned that in our interest and for the safety of the victims, we should not contact the police or try to play smart.
“He said anything of such would lead to the death of our people. He did not allow me to speak with my person, as he claimed that he was sleeping.
“He said that we should get N1.2 billion before they would be released. He also told me to meet with relatives of the other people. He called back about four hours later to find out if the money was ready.
“He also asked if I had my own N300 million for the release my relation. I begged him to accept N200,000, as that was the only money we could afford, except he wants us to go and start borrowing or sell our property.
“But the line went dead at that point. Where do we get that kind of money at this time? My worry is that my relative is hypertensive.”

I don't feel guilt having sex with boyfriend's friends
I’ve been in a serious relationship for close to a year now, but my problem is that I can’t stop cheating. I’ve always been a flirt and my boyfriend thinks I mean no harm by it.
Recently, I’ve been doing more than flirting.
A few weeks ago, I even allowed myself to be seduced by one of my boyfriend’s mates! I know it makes me look slutty, but I felt no qualms whatsoever— he’s just one of the few men I’ve cheated with since I started going out with this guy.
I don’t understand why I’m being unfaithful to my boyfriend as I love him a lot.
I just believe that since I feel no guilt, there is no reason to stop.
How can I stop? I don’t want to lose my boyfriend who is the best thing that has happened to me.

My husband says his lovers don't mean anything to him
I am 28 and my husband is three years older. We’ve been married for four years and have two lovely children. He has always cheated on me, even before we got married. Every time he has told me that these women mean nothing to him and that he loves only me, so I learnt to forgive him.
As far as I know, he’s been quiet now for about four months.
I love my husband a lot and I don’t want to lose him, but I can’t get images of him with other women out of my head. I’ve tried to talk to him but he just gets angry and tells me to stop nagging.
I’m scared that if I don’t put all this behind me and start to trust him, our marriage might suffer.
I don’t think I can cope if he leaves. I’m scared of being on my own in spite of the fact that I have a good job and I don’t want to meet another man only to go through the whole heart-ache all over again.

I’m in my 20s and have recently discovered that my little sister is sleeping around with old and young men in the neighbourhood.
She’s only 16.
I was shocked and ashamed of her waywardness. When I tried to talk to her, she scoffed and called me jealous. Do you think I should let my parents know?

My wife and I don't know how to ensure clean divorce
My wife and I row all of the time and it has got to a point where both of us agreed we might be better off apart. But we’re both terrified of what the reactions of our friends and relatives will be when we break up.
As a result, we still haven’t told anyone.
Our two kids are under 10. Our parents and friends think we are the perfect couple, so how can we come clean and let everyone know we’ve been living a total lie and that our marriage is over?

I still pine for my first love
When I was in the university, I got together with a long-term friend of mine and had the most amazing relationship. We were passionately in love and truly thought we were meant for each other. But afte r leaving university, we went in different directions and had a rather messy split.
Ever since, I’ve pined for my first love and no relationship has ever equalled it. Is it a case of first love being the strongest? Were we meant to be?

My man is aroused by my ampit smell
I’ve been with my partner for over a year now and we are thinking of getting married.
Right from the time we started having sex, I’ve noticed he gets really aroused when he sniffs my armpit.
He’s pleaded with one not to shave them and I’ve complied but when the weather is stuffy, my body odour becomes pronounced.
This is exactly when my partner buries his head in them at regular intervals when we’re making love.
Do you think this is normal? I don’t particularly like it but I don’t want to hurt him by shaving my armpits.

Between DSTV and Startimes: the Advantage of Competition
Time was when DSTV was the Lord of the manor. It dictated the terms of
its offerings and treated its customers like vassals who existed at the
pleasure of the emperor. Its lowest rate was N2600 or thereabout for a
month of primary channels on its pay tv network.
Then came Startimes which tailored its offering to suit the pocket of the masses. For as low as N1200 per month you can get on its bouquet and enjoy the best of satelite television and it went further to design a bouquet for as low as N800. Per month. The people flocked to the Chinese powered network to the detriment of South African owned DSTV.

I am happy my husband is dead
My husband recently died suddenly after suffering from a massive heart attack. We have been married close to 20 years and have three children. Everyone expects me to be devastated by his death, but I’m not. He was a real socialite, very popular and friendly to friends and relations. But to me and our children, he was nasty, miserly and grumpy.
What’s worse, he had lots of affairs he wasn’t sorry for. As at the time of his death, he’d gloated to me and the children that he was planning on taking a second wife and selling the family house, so he would have money to buy a flat and pay the rent for a flat he would move the rest of us into.
So you can imagine how jubilant I was when he had a heart attack in his office. I was thankful it didn’t happen at home or his relatives might accuse me of killing him.

She threatens to tell my wife about us
For three years, I have been having an affair with a female colleague. She knows how strongly I feel about my wife and now that my wife is pregnant with our second child, I told her we should stop the affair.
To my dismay, she really got nasty and angry, threatening to spill the beans to my wife if I dumped her.
How can I make her realise it’s better if we just finish the affair quietly?

No criminal implications on naming dog after person —Lawyers
The incoming Second National Vice President of the Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, Mr. Monday Ubani, yesterday, said that no offence is committed by someone naming his dog after somebody else.
He said: “In the eye of the law, it is not criminal for somebody to name his or her dog after another person. It may be offensive by examining the circumstances under which the incident happened.
“I understand that a particular dog was named after a neighbour and both of them were not in good terms; in a Hausa community somewhere in the South-West.
“So expediency would have prevailed on him not to name his dog after somebody he was quarrelling with.
“The Bible says wisdom profited for direction. Anything you are doing must be with wisdom. If such a thing would provoke unnecessary argument, you should avoid it.”

How to make sure your child is safe in SEVEN simple steps
The first
piece of advice tells parents to throw out their children's personalised
rucksacks, lunch boxes and other items that visibly show off their
child's name to people they don't know.
This
is because when strangers know your child's name they come across as
friendly and familiar - and subsequently your child is much more likely
to trust them.
The
author of the article Natasha Daniels says: 'Every morning as I drive
my kids to school, I see these two very young girls walking to school on
their own. From down the street I can make out both of their glittery
names on their backpacks.'
