Man kills wife’s lover, disappears

POLICE in Delta State are on the trail of a man, Ochuko Ajekpemevor, who stabbed one Robinson Ituke to death at Ugborikoko, Uvwie Local Government Area of the state, Saturday, for allegedly sleeping with his wife, Rose.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, Celestina Kalu, in a statement yesterday, confirmed that “one Clement Ituke of 8, Udoko Street, Ugborikoko, reported that at 4p.m., one Ochuko Ajekpemevor and his wife, Rose, came into his house and her husband, Ochuko, brought out a knife and stabbed his son on the chest and ran away.
“The victim was immediately rushed to Inland Hospital Ugborikoko, where he gave up the ghost. Meanwhile, detectives visited the scene, photographs were taken and the corpse deposited at Warri Central Hospital’s morgue for autopsy, while effort is ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspect.”

Beginning of the affair
A resident in the area said  Ochuko, the suspected killer, was enraged by his wife, Rose’s alleged confession that her affair with the late Robinson, which started before Ochuko married her, was still on after their marriage.
“Ochuko was said to have warned Robinson to stay away from Rose, but last Saturday the situation got out of hand when Ochuko, after torturing his wife, forced her to take him to Robinson’s home at Ugborikoko.
“Ochuko drove the wife in his car from his Emebiren Street, Warri residence and headed for Robinson’s place.
“In the presence of Robinson’s father, Ochuko pulled out a knife from his trousers and stabbed Robinson repeatedly on the chest before disappearing. The victim died afterwards.”
Relatives and angry neighbours of the victim, who rushed to the assailant’s house, destroyed his property, while police arrested his wife, who was still at the Ugborikoko Divisional Police Office at press time.
