An international charity said on Monday that the
wealthiest 62 people on earth now own as much as half the world’s population.
Oxfam said in a report released in London ahead of
the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland that some 3.5
billion people have grown poorer as the super-rich have grown richer.
It said the wealth of the richest 62 people has
risen by 44 per cent since 2010, while the wealth of the poorest 3.5 billion
fell 41 per cent.THE EAGLE
