The three Orekoya children kidnapped by their nanny, Fumilayo Adeyemi, and their parents visited Lagos State Police Command to have a glimpse of the nanny that masterminded their kidnap.
The 35-year-old-woman, a native of Osun State, was arrested by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, led by Abba Kyari, nine days after she kidnapped the children: Aderomola, Adedamola and Demola Orekoya, who were between the ages of 11 months and six years, from their home at Surulere area of Lagos.
The children, who were kidnapped a few hours after the nanny was employed by their mother, were rescued last Wednesday at Shasha, Akowonjo area of Lagos, by a good Samaritan who found them in a bag where they were dumped by the suspect.
It was gathered that mother of the children, Mrs Adebisi Orekoya, her husband, Leke, and the children, met with the suspect in the office of the State Bureau of Intelligence, SIB, Ikeja, a few hours after she was arrested.
A source said the suspect went on her knees pleading for mercy the moment she sighted Mrs Orekoya and her children.
The kidnapped children were also said to have covered their faces, refusing to look at Adeyemi as she knelt, begging their mother for forgiveness.
Mrs Orekoya was said to have asked Adeyemi why she kidnapped her children despite the fact that she treated her like a sister when they met.
She was quoted as saying: “Why did you decide to show me wickedness. I treated you like a sister the moment I met you. You told me how poor and helpless you were and I let you into my home. But this was how you chose to repay me.”
Meanwhile, yesterday, that SARS operatives have located Adeyemi’s mother, Esther Adeyemi, at Ajah area of Lagos.
According to sources, Adeyemi’s mother, a prophetess, said she had not seen her daughter since 2006.
She was said to have denied knowing her daughter was married and into kidnapping.
