Authorities are destroying all books. What novel or story would you memorise to save it for posterity?

Imagine the authorities have banned and are destroying all books. The only way to save them is to memorize them. Theologians have most of the various religious texts memorized; actors have the plays. Most shorter poems are also probably already learned. What novel or story would you commit to memory, in order to save it for posterity?
