Except Jonathan is a good manager...

And so Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, considered it wise to shift the elections.

I do not blame INEC, largely seen as the most unindependent electoral umpire of all times. I do not blame the governors and lawmakers, who the electorate have left to their shameless dance. No, I do not blame journalists and editors, who have sold out and are proud to defend their paymaster. I do not blame the millions of “supporters” who turn up at every rally: as long as N1,000 is paid, political party or candidate be damned.

By the way, if what is in the news are the facts, what kind of elections was INEC planning anyway? They say training manual was not ready; 700,000 ad hoc staff yet to be recruited; RECs yet to print voter register; register printers still in Abuja; presiding officers yet to be trained; PVCs still being printed abroad, etc, etc. In better climes, this enough for either some people to go to jail or for the President to resign. Thankfully, “resign” is not in Nigerian dictionary.

At the time I was penning this (February 8, 4:45pm), a friend said they were at the INEC training. I did not ask when they started. So it is possible the other things are on the high sea.

Well, all that is history now. Until further notice. Yes. The same birds that told me long ago there were plans to postpone the elections are still looking into their crystal balls. What they see is troubling. Sackings, ING, elections in two years. I said birds and crystal balls. If you heard something else, you are on your own, for I hear no one goes into those underground cells and come out the same person!

And that is how APC lost the presidential election. Forget the swag and robust campaign. This is Nigeria. The margin would have been slim. But win? No. Now it is totally out of t heir reach. APC should now try to win back the angry Lagos populace. Of course, as soon as they lose the presidential election, APC will collapse. We have seen it before. Every body go waka. That is why the party must do all it can to retain Lagos, so that the number of person that will die of hypertension can be manageable.

No, I have not forgotten where I started this piece from.

The people to blame for this crisis, and who should be ashamed of themselves, are those that shielded President Goodluck Jonathan from the truth. We all know them. Media red necks, PR guru, security experts, businessman and women of international connections, and all those who are fund of saying “Oga, tell dem say we are on top of the situation.” They should all bury their heads in shame. They decided to ride the goodluck wave to far out to sea.

The wave enabled them stowaway their families abroad and create the situation we now find ourselves. I DO NOT KNOW HOW IT HAPPENED, BUT THEY SUCEEDED IN HIDING THE TRUE SITUATION FROM JONATHAN. That is my own deduction.

A president has experts in every field on his team. I do not know where our President got his team members. I am not sure he reads or watches TV. At times, especially after some of his speeches, I get the feeling either he just woke up from sleep or somebody is arranging for his failure.

Yes. I mean GEJ! He leaves in a dream land created by his team. Before he saw reality, DISGRACE was knocking on Aso Rock. It took the whirlwind that accompanied DISGRACE's knocking for him to remove his head from where he buried it. (While his head was buried, dead politicians resurrected and became orators and party chieftains!) And the helter skelter race began. The finish line is still far off.

Now groups, associations and some spirits are in possession of straws— giant straws. And in the name of repairing damages, are sucking Nigeria dry. Governance is at stand still. When it begins again, heads will roll. Thereafter, where will the resources to run this country come from? The belt is going to get tighter. I hope my President wakes up and see the selfless technocrats that still about because we are headed for suicidal times.

I do not mean those parading doctorates and professorial tags. Some of them, who nearly crippled the economy, have suddenly discovered the problems and, yes, solutions. Now they have also found that they can write long essays and the media is humouring them. AGAIN!

Once again, all the major stakeholders have made a decision without consulting me the voter! Chai! Diarris God ooooo!

  1. I am not using any Crystal ball but i could see what happened in 1993 coming to repeat itself. I think somebody up there is so jittery about packing out of Aso Rock that he so confusedly advised, demanded or ordered the election to be shifted to a later date. To add to the reasons you garnered from your birds, they said Boko Haram is threatening fire and brimstone that there will be war if the election holds on 14 February, can you imagine, a group of layabout holding a great nation like ours to ransom, that we have to bow to their demands. Please o, help me ask them, does it mean they have gotten solution to the Boko Boko problems? Will they conquer them before the March 28th date of election? if Yes, fine, we'll wait but if no. help me tell them that Nigerians don wise up now. Any magomago on their part will cause the wrath of God to be visited on them. This suffer suffer is ENOUGH.
