Man, wife, SSS3 son murdered in Lagos

Tragedy struck in Ibeshe Titun area of Ikorodu, Lagos, yesterday, as a man, his wife and their son, were murdered in their apartment by unknown men. The family members had their heads bashed in with a grinding stone.
Their son was writing the ongoing Senior Secondary Certificate Examination, SSCE.

Residents, however, claimed that the act could have been carried out by members of a dreaded cultist known as Badooo, owing to the manner the family members were killed.
Nobody could tell the exact time the assailants struck, as residents had apparently gone to bed. But they were all thrown into confusion at noon yesterday, after a teacher and some classmates of the SS3 student called to find out why he did not come to write the day’s paper.
The door was locked from within, while the window was left opened. Several knocks on the door as well as calls put through to their phones were greeted with silence.
One of the curious students was said to have peeped through the window, only to discover the family of three in a pool of blood.
The visitors raised the alarm that alerted residents, who forced the door open and discovered all three stone dead.
Policemen from Ipakodo Division, who were contacted, arrived the scene and took the corpses to the Ikorodu General Hospital morgue.

Residents express fear
Some residents expressed fear over the safety of their lives, revealing that such attacks on residents had become overbearing.
One of them said: “This is not the first time a thing like this is happening. This is the handiwork of Badoo boys, because they use same tactics for their operation.
“At times, they would rape their victims before smashing their heads with a grinding stone. At other times, they would not rape but just kill. They don’t spare any family member whenever they strike.
“Just last month, they stormed a church at Mosafejo in Agbowa town here in Ikorodu and killed a woman and her three grandchildren. Another man and his two children were also affected in that same area. They carry out all their atrocities here in Ikorodu.”
Contacted, Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Olarinde Famous-Cole, confirmed the incident.
He said: “When policemen, who got the distress call, got to the scene, the corpses of a man, his wife and their son were found in a pool of blood. Investigation is ongoing.”
