NIGERIA PRAYS: Muslims'll soon join — Gowon

Former Head of State and Convener of Nigeria Prays, General Yakubu Gowon (rtd.) has hinted that Muslims faithful will soon join the group as part of efforts toward religious harmony and peaceful co-existence.
This came as thousands of people, including commercial motorcyclists, drivers and petty traders, in Yola, abandoned their businesses to participate in a special prayer session for the speedy recovery of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Gowon, who spoke in Yola during a courtesy call on Governor Mohammed Jibrilla of Adamawa State, said it was in realisation of the importance of such joint prayers that the Nigeria Prays had invited their Muslim counterparts to join the crusade.
Meanwhile, the prayer session for the speedy recovery of Buhari was organised by a political support group, Buhari Osibanjo Again, BOA, 2019.

The Christians and Muslims, who filled the Adamawa State APC secretariat, said their decision to participate in the session was borne out of love and concern for the President and the nation.
In their respective remarks at the prayer session, the interim Chairman of BOA, Alhaji Yayaha Hammanjolde, and the state chairman of APC, Alhaji Ibrahim Bilal, lauded the commitment shown by the masses, adding that such love and concern was needed from the masses for their leaders.
In their messages, prominent party leaders from Adamawa State, including Secre-tary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Babachir Lawan, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, and former governor Murtala Nyako, who was represented by his son, Senator Abdul-Azeez Nyako, also lauded the people’s concern.
