Buhari denies knowledge of ban on AIT

Nigeria’s President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), said yesterday that he was not aware of the temporary ban imposed on African Independent Television, AIT, not to cover his official functions.
Consequently, he instructed all his aides, including the security team, to steer clear of all media activities and allow those assigned the responsibility to solely play the role with their colleagues.
In a statement in Abuja yesterday by Directorate of Media and Publicity of All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential Campaign Council, Buhari said he read about the ban in the papers, stressing that he was neither consulted nor informed about the development.
The President-elect, however, aligned himself with the pronouncement of his party, which had since reversed the ban on AIT.
According to him, sticking to the ban can only bring the party at par with the outgoing People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
Buhari said: “I would like everyone to henceforth stay within his/her defined area of responsibility.
“The time of change has come and we must avoid making the same mistakes as the outgoing government.”

My wife has no vagina opening, man tells court

A Customary Court sitting in Ake, Abeokuta, Ogun State, yesterday, dissolved a three-year-old marriage between Femi Olayiwola and his wife, Kemi, over lack of vagina opening, deceit and frequent fighting.
He told the court his wife deceived him into marrying her, knowing she could not bear him children.
The wife had, however, failed to appear in court, despite several summonses by the court.
Olayiwola said: “My wife had been deceiving me since we got married. I have never seen her experience menstruation. My wife does not have a vagina opening.
“Anytime I ask her for sex, she would give an excuse. Meanwhile, we have been praying to God to give us children.
“My wife did not tell me anything about her condition before we got married, until February this year that she confessed to me that she had never experienced menstruation in her life.

My cousin forces himself on me

From time to time, I spend the holidays with my mum’s elder sister and I used to get on well with my cousins. But early last year, I woke to feel the hand of my eldest cousin under my nightie.
I was so frightened though curious that I pretended to still be sleeping. After this, he tried to have full sex with me, but I pushed him off.
Then he started being very nice to me, introducing me to his friends and giving me presents. I was having such a good time that when next he came to the guest room, I let him have sex with me.
He now thinks he could do that any time he wants but I’ve told him to stop.
Recently, he’s been forcing me to have sex with him whether I like it or not. I enjoy the sex but I’m only 16 and he is my first cousin. How do I make him stop?

What you’re doing is incestuous. First, you are not at all legally allowed to have any sexual relationships because of genetic problems it could bring, if pregnancy occurs. Moreover, you’re too young to be playing with adult emotions. You are having unprotected sex which could either result in unwanted pregnancy or sexually transmitted diseases.
You have to be firm with your cousin and put an end to this nonsense. Threaten you’ll tell his parents or yours if he doesn’t stop. When next he crawls into your bed at night, say no and mean it. Leave the room if need be.

I slept with my best friend, now he wants a relationship

I was feeling really lonely a few weeks ago and slept with one of my male friends.
He’s my best friend as a matter of fact and has liked me for years but I didn’t fancy him sexually.
Ever since we slept together, he’s been sending me texts and phone messages and it’s obvious he thinks we’re now an item.
I’m currently recovering from a messy divorce and I don’t want to get involved with any man for now. What should I do?

In a moment of weakness it’s easy to take advantage of an admirer but if you knew he’d always fancied you, you shouldn’t have led him on.
After so many years, his unrequited love appeared to be reciprocated. You can’t blame him for getting carried away.
If there’s no hope of love between you, then you have to let him go. Be cruel to be kind and explain how you feel about your recent divorce.
He may feel angry and cut off contact as he heals his heart, but if you share true friendship then he’ll still be there to support you in future.

Lost in my wife's kitchen

(During one of those relax-the-body-with-laugh moments, a big bros told me how he is constantly confused in the kitchen.)

HIS STORY: It is not a big affair. But each time I enter the kitchen, it feels like attempting to be 22 players in Akpabio's stadium.
“Dirty plates must go to this side of the sink,” Madam told me once. “Remnants must be scraped off and put here because they have to be kept dry if I can't wash immediately….” blah, blah, blah.
This was after I had been weaned of leaving plates were I ate. Now, can't these bloody plates stay anywhere in the kitchen?
There is also a specific place and how to keep spoons so they won't fall or go behind the cabinet. The cups too must be positioned in a particular way to keep them dry and clean. And, God help me, I must rinse plate, spoon, cup before use!
There are, at least, three hands towels in that kitchen. One for the hands after handling anything, another to carry hot pots and pans, and one more for cleaning surfaces. There is another I must use after washing my hands once I come in every evening. (I swear, am harassed into washing my hands when I return from work).

At 28, I haven’t slept with a girl yet

I’m 28 and I’ve never had a girlfriend. I haven’t even kissed a woman, and now I feel that I never will. Everybody I know seems to be talking about sex, love and relationships.
Television programmes, newspapers, magazines and songs on radio constantly remind me of these things. It makes me feel so inadequate and depressed. As a result, I don’t feel like going out any more only to watch other people have fun.
Recently, I’ve toyed with the idea of visiting prostitutes just so that I could know what it is like to be close to a woman. I wish I could meet a girl and fall in love but all hope seems to have been lost.

It’s true that most men need the comfort and intimacy of female companionship and it is this feelings of yours that you’re inadequate that is preventing you from reaching out for a woman’s love. There are tons of lonely women who want sex and a caring relationship just as much as you do. You need to accept that you are as loveable as the rest of us, and that your desire for sex is nothing to be ashamed of. This will make you feel able to respond to the interest of the women you meet.
You’re not alone as a lot of people have wondered if they would ever find romance, only to find it when they least expected. Instead of secretly aching for love, show some of the women you meet that you’re interested in them. Men who flirt and express their romantic needs have girlfriends. So go out there and find the love you deserve. Don’t let one or two rejections put you off, more women are bound to say yes.
