Police trouble: Sergeant dies during romp with Corporal’s wife

A Police Sergeant, Jude Nwandudu, who slumped in a hotel in Iju area of Lagos State, weekend, has died at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH, where he was rushed to.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the late Nwandudu, a father of four, went to the hotel in the company of the wife of an unnamed policeman, who lives in the same barracks with him, to unwind for the just-concluded Easter celebrations.
However, tragedy struck when, after relaxing with his lover, Nwandudu slipped and fell in the bathroom while having a shower. He hit his head on the bath tub and collapsed. His lover raised the alarm that attracted members of staff of the hotel.
Report said Nwandudu, who was attached to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, Ikeja, was rushed to a nearby hospital, from where he was transferred to LUTH, where he died.
His lover, as gathered, had been invited for questioning but was later released.

Widow's a Sergeant, too
Meanwhile, hell was said to have been let loose as the deceased’s widow, also a Police Sergeant, insisted that her late husband’s lover be held responsible for his death.
The latter’s visibly angry husband, as gathered, had also asked her to pack out of his house for bringing shame to the family.
A neighbour, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said: “Nwandudu was recently transferred from Kogi State Police Command to SARS. It is unfortunate he died.”

There were rumours
It was also gathered that there were rumours earlier about a clandestine relationship between the deceased and the neighbour’s wife.
However, they both denied it. It almost resulted into a fight between the woman’s husband, who is a Corporal, and the deceased.
Some people even advised the Corporal to report the matter to the Provost since the deceased was senior to him in rank.
A neighbour said: “Now that he is dead, some people are attributing it to magun (charm). The Corporal has since chased his wife away.”
Meanwhile, Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Dolapo Badmus, a Superintendent, has said Sergeant Nwandudu died in hospital after a brief illness
